Introduction


Novolam is made by fusing a decorative melamine impregnated paper permanently onto the surface of particleboard or MDF.

The Enviromental Management Systems of Sonae Novobord has been assessed and found to satisfy the SABS ISO 14001 requirements.

2750mm X 1830mm in a 16mm thickness.
Select sizes and thicknesses available on request.

Heat resistance


The melamine coating on Novolam can support a superficial temperature of 120°c for at least ten minutes and 170°c for at least three minutes.

Cutting guidance


Sharp tungsten carbide tipped blades should be used. A slow speed is recommended and the saw should be wobble free to prevent chipping of the melamine surface.

Cleaning instructions


Use soapy water or a commercial cleaner. The use of abrasives should be avoided.

Chemical resistance


Normal household chemicals either have no effect or a very slight effect on Novolam. Concentrated chemicals should not be left in contact for long periods.
